H1n1 diagnostic contribution of neutrophil lymphocyte in diagnosed patients

Objective: To compare the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio in patients with H1N1 positive and non-H1N1 positive patients presenting with upper respiratory tract infection and showing the possibility of using it in diagnosis. Material and Method: Patients with upper respiratory tract complaints; Two groups were divided into two groups as H1N1 positive and absent patients by ELISA method. H1N1 positive patients (n = 40) were included in the study group and H1N1 positive patients (n = 30) were included in the control group. Demographic data, neutrophil, lymphocyte count and neutrophil / lymphocyte counts were evaluated. Results: There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of demographic characteristics. There was no significant difference in neutrophil, lymphocyte count and NLR between the two groups. The number of neutrophils was 8.28 in the mean control group; 7.61 in the study group. Lymphocyte count was 1.77 in the mean control group; Found 1.22 in the study group. NLR control group, 7.41; Was found to be 8.82 in the study group. There was a significant difference in platelet count between the two groups. The number of platelets in the control group was 263,9; The study group was found to be 199.43. As a result, the number of platelets was found to be lower in H1N1-positive patients. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the number of neutrophils / lymphocytes in both groups; Whereas there was a significant difference in platelet count. The number of platelets in H1N1-positive patients was found to be lower than in negative-detected patients. It is thought that the number of platelets can be used in the early diagnosis of pig sweat, a disease with high morbidity and mortality.
