Abstract (EN)

Undoubtedly; with developing technology and business models, mobile applications have become an indispensable part of most people's daily lives. The main purpose of this study is; to examine the applicability of basic design principles that are considered critical for understanding why some designs are more useful and learnable than others, in mobile application designs; which are included in Don Norman's book "The Design of Everyday Things", published in 2013 and considered an important reference in the design world. In this context; after the literature research for the concepts in the subject's focus, 423 answered surveys from randomly reached people from different education levels and age groups were evaluated. A semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted with 7 participants selected from the survey participants in line with the determined criteria. All the data collected within the scope of the research studies were examined and interpreted by focusing on basic design principles. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that all basic design principles apply to the user experience and interface designs of mobile applications.
