The role of industry 4.0 in the impact of transformational leadership on performance

The purpose of this study; It examines the role of Industry 4.0 in the effect of transformational leadership on employee performance. The population of the research is three large enterprises operating in Zonguldak province. Face-to-face survey technique was used in the study. A total of 691 employees participated in the research. 292 of them work at Gökçebey Ceramic Factory, 172 at Çaycuma Elcap Cable Factory and 227 at Devrek Cilas Rubber Factory. In the analysis, it was seen that the transformational leadership perceptions of the people working at Gökçebey Ceramic Factory were close to positive. The performance level of the employees in the ceramic factory was at a medium level. It has been determined that cloud computing and 3D printers, which are Industry 4.0 technologies, are used at an acceptable level in the ceramic factory, and other applications are used at a moderate level. The transformational leadership perceptions of the people working at Çaycuma Elcap Cable Factory were at the level of indecision. The performance of employees in the cable factory was at an average level. It has been determined that autonomous robots, cloud computing and 3D printers are the most used Industry 4.0 technologies in the cable factory. It has been determined that augmented reality and big data technologies are used, albeit partially, but the internet of things and cyber physical systems are not used. Transformational leadership perceptions of people working at Devrek Cilas Rubber Factory were at the level of indecision. The performance of the employees in the rubber factory was at a medium level. It has been determined that cloud computing and 3D printers are the most used Industry 4.0 technologies in the rubber factory. In the factory where autonomous robots and big data technologies are partially applied; It was determined that internet of things, cyber physical systems and augmented reality technologies were not used. In the study; Transformational leadership, perception of Industry 4.0 technologies and employee performance differed in terms of demographic characteristics. As a result of the analysis, the relationship between transformational leadership perception and business performance is weak, and the relationship between transformational leadership perception and Industry 4.0 technologies use perception is high; A moderate positive relationship was found between the perception of the use of Industry 4.0 technologies and business performance. Additionally, according to the mediation test; It has been determined that the use of Industry 4.0 technologies has a full mediating role on business performance.
