Abstract (EN)
Introduction and Purpose In nature sports, catecholamines have an important role in adapting to the stress level and risk level of the sport. The aim of this study is to determine whether dopamine and epinephrine catecholamines, which are known to be associated with each other, have an acute effect on rafting athletes. The research group for the study consists of 10 athletes and 10 sedentary athletes who do not have any health problems. In line with the aim of the study, the first urine samples were taken from subjects at rest before rafting to determine the acute effect. The second samples were taken immediately after landing from the rafts. These samples were taken and delivered to the hospital where the analysis will be carried out under suitable conditions. The non-parametric Wilcoxon test, one of the SPSS package programs, was applied to the results obtained after the necessary examinations were carried out. As a result of the analysis of the athletes, a statistically significant difference was found in epinephrine pre-test-post-test levels (p<.05), while no statistically significant difference was observed in dopamine pre-test-post-test levels (p> .05). In the analysis results of the sedentary, statistically significant differences were found in both epinephrine and dopamine pre-test-post-test levels (p <.05). According to the findings, while an increase in epinephrine hormone was observed in athletes after rafting, no significant difference vi was observed in the dopamine hormone. It can be said that there is an increase in both hormones in sedentary participants. Keywords: Rafting, Raft, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Hormone
