Evaluation of bond strenght of four different laminate veneer restoration materials

Abstract (EN)

Aesthetic problems seen in the teeth occur due to dental trauma, premature birth, pregnancy or infections treated in infancy and genetic disorders. In the treatment of such cases; first desensitizing agents, after tooth-colored restorative materials, then laminate veneer restorations and finally full ceramic restorations are preferred. Selection of methods which cause minimal tissue loss occuring for the reasons such as natural tooth color, shapes and developmental disorders in the treatment of aesthetic problems, will increase the chance of success. Direct composite laminate veneer method which doesn't require laboratory procedures instead of full ceramic crowns in the aesthetic treatments of changed color, fracture, malformed or malpositioned anterior teeth, is preferred. Laminate veneers; aesthetic, biocompatible, stable and predictable treatment outcomes and creating the minimal risk of gingival irritation are restoration options. Composite resins which have the advantages such as ease of application and the short duration of treatment, began to be used frequently owing to nanofil technology which provide substantial progress and advanced bonding systems in recent years. This in vitro study is planned to assess comparing shear strength of four different composite resin materials which placed on preparing labial surface of the teeth. Our research was performed using freshly extracted for orthodontic or periodontal reasons, non-carious, the restoration free 60 upper central incisors. Cavity preparation completed teeth were randomly divided into four groups. The first group Grandio, the second group Gradia, the third group Amaris and the fourth group Tetric ceram restorative materials which placed in line with the manufacturer's recommendations, were polymerized with visible light. Applying different loads on dental restorations placed in the Instron test device, separation values from natural tooth of materials were recorded in Newton type. The materials evaluated statistically using One-way ANOVA and TUKEY HSD tests, significant difference was not observed among the materials in terms of fracture resistance and Grandio is determined as the material which has the highest bond strength value.
