Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was investigate effects of aerobic, anaerobic performance and isokinetic leg strength of two different form high intensity interval training methods which is lasted for 6 weeks. 29 combat athletes (karate, judo, taekwondo, wrestling) with an average (age of 21.41 ± 1.50 years) participated in the study as voluntarily. In the study, the participants were randomly divided into two groups, one group was administered the Tabata method, one of the high intensity interval training methods, and the other group applied the running-based high intensity interval training method, groups trained every other day three days a week. Body composition, aerobic, anaerobic performance and isokinetic leg strength tests were performed at the beginning of the study, the 3rd week and at the end of the study. In the analysis of the data obtained at the end of the study, the Wilcoxon test was used for in-group pre-test, inter-test and post-test comparisons, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used for inter-group comparisons and the significance level was determined as 0.05. When the findings were evaluated, there was a decrease in body fat percentages and an increase in aerobic, anaerobic performance and isokinetic leg strength performances in both training groups. While no statistically significant difference was found between groups in most of the aerobic, anaerobic performance and isokinetic performance parameters, only the strength development in knee flexion performance was found to be statistically significant in favor of the running-based high-intensity interval training group. As a result can be said that both training methods increase aerobic, anaerobic performance and isokinetic leg strength performance.
