Rhizomatic reading of dramatic texts as a new reception method

Gilles Deleuze, one of the most important philosophers of the twentieth century, adapted the concept of rhizome, which they borrowed from botanical science, to their own thoughts, together with Felix Guattari. When this term is integrated with concepts such as deterritoriality, nomadism and body without organs, it turns into a perception that we can call the Rhizomatic view. Rhizom which grows as a wild plant in under the soil is spread horizontally, and displace all settled elements and them deterritorializes. The thoughts of Deleuze and Guattari are against being a bodie with organs, being territorial and Oedipus. These notions of in their thoughts are a result of vertical think that created by clasical philosophy and this way of thinking creates power. The rhizomatic view is opposed to this vertical view and develops as counter-philosophy against it. Therfore this view offers us a different perspective which is a style of free and autonomic thought. The rhizomatic perception is also the key term and notion of this style of thought. With this perspective, Deleuze and Guattari produced ideas in many fields from cinema to theater, from literature to politics and philosophy. While they were producing these ideas, they mostly worked on non-dramatic structures. Because of Rhizomatic perspective is anti-structural, it is relatively more appropriate and natural to apply this gaze on non-dramatic works. In this thesis, the concept of rhizome will be tried to be applied completely in dramatic texts, more specifically in theater texts written with classical dramatic structure. From this point of view, in this thesis, Rhizomatic perception will be discussed as a method of criticism and the seeds of a new critical consciousness will be tried to be planted.
