The use of outsourced service procurement in hospitals

From the point of businesses the competitive conditions in the market are getting more difficult within time. But to cope with these difficult conditions these businesses are improving new management strategies. Besides their main business by outsourcing, these businesses aim to spend more time and effort on their basic skills. On the other hand nowadays hospitals are not places that provide only medical service, but also they have become complex businesses that provide food, hygiene, computing and accommodation services. This study is about the reasons, benefits, disadvantages, process and type of procurement of outsourced services for use in hospitals. By using source scanning method it has been revealed the positive and negative sides of outsourcing on hospital management. In this context it has been understood that outsourcing for hospitals have some positive results like reduction of costs, focus on basic skills, and application of new technology, besides there is also the risk of loosing flexibility, choosing insufficient supplier management and failure of ensuring information security.
