Özet (EN)

The irrevocable component of the sustainable economic growth is definitely transportation. Depending on that fact, the factors that influenced the transportation sector were derived from the academic literature and these variables were implemented in the econometric computation. In this context, by the virtue of the importance of the this subject, the data of the countries between the year 1980 to 2011 were collected from World Bank's official website in order to determine the long term relationship between the variables and to measure the impact of the GDP and the Export Volume on the Air Transportation in a parametric manner. The Johansen Cointegration Test demonstrated the long term relationship between USA, Turkey, China and India's GDP and Export Volume with their Air Transportation. Furthermore, the data of USA's GDP and Export Volume were collected in between 1980 and 2011 to measure their effects on the USA's Air Transportation by using linear regression. The results indicated that as long as the USA's GDP growth rate and Export Volume increased the Air Transportation increased as well. The Granger Causality Analysis were used to determine the short term relationship between the China's Air Transportation and GDP. According to the results, as China's Air Transportation increases, the GDP also increases. Besides, there is one way short term relationship between Air Transportation and GDP. ADF Unit Root Test was used to comprehend whether the data is stationary or non stationary. Key Words: Granger Causality Test, ADF Unit Root Test, Linear Regression, Johansen Cointegration Test, Vector Autoregressive Model.
