The dual mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between psychological contract violation, supervisor incivility and employee performance

The increasing corpus of research on the relationship between supervisor incivility and employee performance, along with its moderating and mediating mechanisms, has caught the attention of scholars. The researcher uses Conservative Resource Theory as a theoretical lens to complete the whole phenomenon that is helping to understand the relationships among variables. The proposed mediation model tested the data that was collected from Service sector employees and Supervisors. The present study employs a cross-sectional research design to fulfill its research objectives, employing the convenience sampling method to gather data from participants. Therefore, I conducted a mediation analysis that shows Supervisor incivility perpetrated in service sector exercises a positive effect on employee performance, but after added mediation, that effect changed into insignificant for other contingent factors. Mediation has a negative role-play between supervisor incivility and psychological capital. Furthermore, increasing the Understanding of how supervisor incivility affects the task of employee performance is essential to advancing theoretical knowledge as well as for pushing to design new interventions that buffer this relationship. This research has one of the new perspectives that continue this line of research and add data in theory as well as practice.
