The economic and political balance of the world-system is shifting to the East Asian region, especially China. China has reascended a central position in the world economy as it was before the 19th century. China, which is the world's second largest economy nominally, is the world's largest economy in accordance with purchasing power parity. China, taking long-term superiority of the US over in the world manufacturing industry, has become the country with the largest trade volume in the world. China, which has the largest foreign exchange reserves in the world, is among the biggest creditor countries. China is the largest trading partner of multiple countries in several regions of the world, especially in Easy Asia. Although it gives priority to economic development, China is rapidly expanding its military capabilities. China's progress in military, political and particularly in economic spheres is consistently increasing its influence in the international system. Global economic and political changes indicate that China will play a central role in the world-system again. Geopolitical and geoeconomic developments in the world-system make China the most significant actor in the global hegemonic struggle. China is in a position to actor with the greatest potential in the struggle to become the epicenter of capital accumulation and to become hegemonic power. China is the actor with the greatest economic resources to be able to control over the complicating capitalist world-economy. In this thesis, it is examined the issue of whether the rise of China can lead to it to be hegemonic power or not. Moreover, China's ability to create a new hegemonic order and its limiting factors are analyzed. Key Words: China, The Rise of China, The World-System, Hegemony, Hegemonic Cycles
