The Analyses of income poverty and human poverty in the world and in Turkey and the suggestions

The capitalist system the world economy was based on, underwent a crisis due to diminishing profit margins since 1970s. This development gave rise to deepening of some problems. From the beginning of 1980s the pursuance of neo- liberal policies and the process of globalization lead to the spread of these problems. The most important problem was income poverty and human poverty due to unfair distribution of income. Turkey is one of the countries experiencing this problem, which hits all the countries, no matter how developed they are. Economic policies in Turkey had been radically changed in 1980 and the ensuing developmental process was much like in the rest of the world. Due to policies focusing on financial capital rather than on production and also because of neo-liberal practices the social state approach gradually disappeared. The resulting problem of unfair income distribution was very much ignored and neglected by the governments. This approach gave rise to a striking inequality between people and countries such as the existence of hundred millions of people living on the threshold of starvation and the gradual increase of income discrepancies between different groups in all countries and the readiness of rich countries to sacrifice the poor ones and the fact that the income of a few hundred rich people is equal to that of tens of poorest countries. In this study the income poverty, the developmental process of human poverty, the approach of various economic schools to income distribution and poverty in various countries in the world were taken up and after analyzing these problems, the necessary political measures to prevent/alleviate them were put forward.
