Özet (EN)

Poverty in it's the most known definition, means that Inability to meet basic needs and having minimum living standards. The main causes of poverty are lack of education, war and political instability, national debts and social inequality. Poverty, which has become an important research topic of social scientists in recent years, has become a common problem of both underdeveloped and developed countries as a result of increasing globalization since the second half of the 20th century. Because its scope and content have changed at the historical level, the efforts of countries to combat poverty have become public policies. Poverty in Turkey as well as all over the world is a primary issue that should not be ignored. In this context, Gini coefficients and public social expenditure items, which show the income distribution of some selected EU countries, are shown in tables by years. Turkey's macroeconomic indicators were given place and were compared with selected EU countries. Aids for family which has low income level by aiming of welfare society in Turkey, are mentioned, and the structure of aid agencies who has done these aids, has studied.
