Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACK This study named as "Situational Leadership and the Examination of the Low Level Leader Types in Turkish Army" consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, defination of leadership and leader, leadership tasks, ingredients of leadership, key terms related to leadership are discussed. Trait and behavioral theories to leadership are also touched and compared in the first chapter. The title of the second chapter is "Situational Leadership". The factors in the situation that influence the effectiveness of a particular leadership style and some thoughts that give way to situational leadership are touched. Fiedler's Theory of Leadership Effectiveness, Path-Goal Theory of Leadership. Vroom-Yetton Model of Leadership and Life Cycle Theory of Leadership have been tried to explain in the second chapter. One of the major issues raised by the situational approach to leadership is the extent to which managers actually are able to choose among leadership styles in different situations has been a major issue. So that this Issue is examined. Hie title of the third chapter is "The Examination of Low Lewel Leader Types in Turkish Army". In this chapter leadership traits that the Turkish privates favour are tried to find On the other hand, leadership behavior dimensions that low level army leaders use in their works are tried to measure. The popüler situational leadership theory, Fiedler's theory of leadership effectiveness, is tested to understand the degree of validation in Turkish Culture and in the Armv.
