Determination of natural killer activity level in low risk high risk HPV positive and normal patients

Abstract (EN)

Determination of natural killer levels in high-risk HPV positive (16,18), other high-risk HPV positive (31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,68) and HPV negative patients to determine whether there is a significant quantitative difference between them. Among the reproductive age group women who applied to Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology outpatient clinic between 2022 and 2023, routine HPV screening was performed from women with no chronic disease, no chronic drug use, no immunosuppressive treatment, venous 8cc blood samples were taken from the patients simultaneously, and they were taken into yellow gel tubes. Patients with high risk (16,18), other high risk HPV (31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,68) and HPV negative patients were divided into 3 groups.HPV test results and blood sample results were reported. In the statistical analysis, the conformity of numerical variables to normal distribution was tested with the Shaphiro Wilk test. ANOVA and LSD tests were used to compare normally distributed variables in three groups, and Kruskal Wallis and Dunn tests were used to compare non-normally distributed variables in three groups. Relationships between categorical variables were tested with the chi-square test. ROC curve analysis was performed to determine the cutoff point for the NK variable. SPSS 22.0 Windows version package program and MedCalc 19.7.1 package program were used in the analysis. P<0.05 was considered significant. In terms of NK results, no significant difference was found between the HPV 16, 18+ group and the HPV other high positive (31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,68) group (D+)( p=0.544, HPV Negative NK results of HPV positive (HPV 16.18+ and other high HPV+ 31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,68) D+ groups was found to be significantly higher than the results. There was a difference between the groups in terms of smoking status (p=0.021). NK laboratory levels can be inexpensive and useful markers for HPV infection. There is a need for larger-scale and high-participation studies on this subject. This study identified new findings that NK cells play an important role in the adaptive response to HPV infection. This idea will potentially lead to novel immunotherapeutic strategies to improve the cervical cancer oncologic outcomes of longitudinal studies of NK cell immune surveillance.
