Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in the 2015- 2016 cultivation season of Akdeniz University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops Research and Application Area. In this research, a total of 28 faba bean (Vicia faba L.) genotypes were used. 27 genotypes of ICARDA origin with low tannin contents and 1 local control (sakız) genotype. The experiment was carried out on 19.11.2015 by hand at a distance of 20 cm in order to have 2 replications, and 50 cm row spacing. Days to first flowering, days to flowering (50%), first flowering days, plant height, number of main branches, first pod height, number of pods per plant, pod length, pod width, number of seeds per pod, biological yield, seed yield, 100 seed weight, and harvest index were determined this study. Days to first flowering of genotypes ranged from 81 to 98 days and days the maturity was 87 days to 102 days. Plant height of the genotypes was between 57 cm and 84 cm. The first pod height was determined between 15 cm and 25 cm in genotypes. The tallest in genotypes belongs to Sakız local cultivar. The average number of seed per pod was found to be 2 to 4. Biological yields were determined between 615 g/plot and 115 g/plot. Sakız local genotype was the highest seed yield (580 g). 100 seeds weight was determined between 63 g (FLIP 12-074FB) and 129 g (ICAWHITE) in the genotypes. The harvest index values (%) in faba bean genotypes were calculated between 13% (FLIP 12-090FB) and 46% (ICAWHITE). As a result, it is thought that ICARDA genotypes which can compete with the local check Sakız in terms of earliness and seed yield can be preferred for both producers and consumers due to their low tannin content and can be used in the development of new varieties.
