Abstract (EN)
In the thesis study, which aims to examine the relationship between the emotional labor behaviors and the levels of exhaustion and the retirement decision of independent employees, these concepts are first described. In particular, independent employees with customer satisfaction at the forefront must regulate their emotions and demonstrate their desired or expected behaviors. Emotional labor behaviors mean the organization is demonstrating the behaviors it expects from employees. Employees who demonstrate these behaviors throughout their work life are expected to vary their levels of exhaustion. The concept of exhaustion is defined as a psychological syndrome that occurs in people who are engaged in intense interaction. It is thought that there will be a relationship between emotional labor behaviors and levels of exhaustion in the retirement decision of employees who are particularly considering retiring. The questions included in the survey form for the Covid-19 pandemic, which has been influenced by the world, and the impact it has on independent employees. The survey was used from quantitative data collection tools. The universe of the study was determined as independent workers living in the province of Muğla. Work with 397 independent employees was carried out by leaving unsuitable surveys out of work from 431 participants, which were achieved by simple random sampling technique. When the analysis results were analyzed, it was determined that there was a difference between emotional labor behaviors and gender, age, education levels and income levels based on demographic characteristics of independent employees. When looking at the levels of exhaustion, there have been significant differences in age, education levels, income levels and working times. When the relationship between emotional labor behaviors and the retirement decision was examined, it was determined that there was a positive positive relationship between deeply role-playing behavior and natural feelings and the retirement decision, and a negative meaningful relationship with superficial role-playing behavior. In addition, a positive meaningful relationship has been established between the levels of exhaustion, emotional, mental and physical exhaustion, and the retirement decision.
