Abstract (EN)

There is an increasing number of studies suggesting that emotional intelligence, which can also be defined as the ability to understand and manage emotions, is related to the issue of emotional labor, which may also imply demonstration rules of an enterprise. In the call center sector, where emotional intensive effort is needed, there are rare studies dealing with two issues. The purpose of this study is therefore to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on emotional labor. The population of the research consists of the employees of a call center in Duzce. Data were obtained by face to face questionnaire collection method using quantitative research method. For the analysis of the data, a total of 218 questionnaires were evaluated and IBM SPSS 24.0 and Amos 23.0 programs were used. According to the results of the research the positive utilization, positively affect the surface acting. The empathic sensitivity dimension positively affects the suppression of emotions dimension and positive emotional regulation and positive utilization dimensions have a positive effect on deep acting dimension. However, it was found that all three dimensions of emotional labor differ according to different emotional intelligence dimensions as high, low and medium.
