Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine the mediating role of self-compassion in the effect of healthcare professionals' emotional intelligence on their psychological resilience. The research was conducted on 428 healthcare professionals working at Yozgat City Hospital. Research data were collected using the psychological resilience scale, emotional intelligence scale, and self-compassion scale. In the analysis of the data, the validity of the data collection tools was assessed through explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, and their reliability was evaluated by calculating Cronbach Alpha values, along with a discrimination analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that emotional intelligence positively affects both self-compassion and psychological resilience, while self-compassion has a significant positive effect on psychological resilience. Additionally, self-compassion was found to play a statistically significant mediating role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological resilience. In conclusion, emotional intelligence and self-compassion can enhance the psychological resilience of healthcare professionals. By being aware of their own emotions, healthcare professionals may develop a more understanding attitude toward themselves. Consequently, they can exhibit greater patience and resilience when faced with negative and challenging situations.
