Özet (EN)
At present, while the historical and cultural heritage of Turkey started to vanish due to several reasons; despite all the related legal amendments put into force, especially because of the difficulties in usage and like the factors related with lack of maintenance and financial sufficiency, a significant decrease is observed in the number of traditional houses in Turkey's traditional housing architectural stock. The aim of this thesis is the determination of the convenient intervention methods suitable for the recent usage necessities; to extend the physical, social and economic life of the "Mehmet Emek House" located in "Akçakoca". Thus, the transfer of this important sample of traditional architecture, which will be an example to nearby buildings of the same sort and will strengthen the conservation consciousness, handling them to the next generations will be possible within a context of the sustainable conservation approach.
