Özet (EN)

The need for energy in the world and in our country increases day by day. If we take into consideration the damages caused by the environment during the production and use of energy, we should be more careful about energy consumption and saving. In addition to industry, most of the energy in our country and in the world is consumed in homes. A certain portion of the energy consumed in homes is spent on heating and cooling, ie improving comfort conditions. The most suitable way to save energy used for heating purposes in buildings is insulation. In this study, firstly, heating and cooling degree hour calculations were made for Duzce province. The hourly temperature data used in the calculations were obtained from the MGM station. The data obtained were transferred to excel environment and incorrect and incomplete data control was performed. After correcting the problematic data by considering the average temperature values; For heating temperatures of 15 °C and for cooling temperatures of 22 °C, degree hour and degree day calculations were made. The optimum insulation thickness was calculated by using stone wool, EPS and XPS insulation materials for brick and aerated concrete walls and heating cost, saving amount and reimbursement period were determined. Finally, for 5 different cases of brick and aerated concrete wall types and various insulation materials, specific heat loss and annual heating energy requirements were calculated and interpreted according to TS 825 standards and the recommendations were made comparatively.
