Evaluati̇on of sport areas in Düzce

In this study; The locations, accessibility, physical conditions, size and activity areas of the sports areas located in the central districts of Düzce province were determined and their conformity with the required standards were analyzed. The amount of green area in Düzce province is 7.072.846.10 m2. The amount of parks in this green area is calculated as 3.537.119.55 m2. Green areas include cemeteries, forest areas, children's playgrounds, squares, afforestation and sports areas. Population in 56 neighborhoods, according to the ABPRS (Address Based Population Registration System) census results of 31 December 2018; The number of the population in the study area is 173.838, of which 50.59% (87.942) are women and 49.41% (85.896) are men. In our country, the legal legislation, zoning regulations and zoning plans are the rules that provide the planning process of cities, approach to green areas and determination of green area per capita. According to the Regulation on Principles Regarding the Development and Changes of Zoning Plan published in the Official Gazette dated 02.09.1999 and numbered 23804; green field value per capita in urban areas in cities in Turkey, should be at least 10,00 m2 and the neighborhood unit level in the distribution of these green spaces 1:50 m2 / per capita, children's playground, 2.00 m2 / per capita neighborhood and district parks, 3,00 m2 / per capita sports area and 3.50 m2 / per capita city park is required. Thus, according to the legal regulations, it is stated that 3,00 m2 sports areas are needed per capita. Considering the current population of the study area, the sports area requirement of the study area in accordance with the planning standards is 521.514,00 m2. As a result of the study, it was calculated that there are currently 47.220,40 m2 sports area, and there should be additional 474.293,60 m2 sports area . As a result, when the existing sports areas in the study area are evaluated in terms of their current physical condition, equipment competencies, size and the amount of sports areas that should be the activity areas, there are deficiencies. At the end of the study; suggestions have been made to increase the efficiency of sports areas in the study area
