Evaluating the knowledge attitudes and habits about hand hygiene personnel in Düzce University Research and Application Hospital

Our study had been made for measuring the knowledge about doctor's and nurses's hand hygiene who work in Düzce University research and application hospital, to appraise attitude and approach and providing to get of necessary precaution to compare with result and the results of literature. Hand hygiene is a general description used for whatever a hand cleaning action. The hospital infection causes to stay in the hospital for a long period of time, increase in the cost, the development of resistance in patients and most importantly causing the death of the patient. For this respect, hand washing has contributed to prevent the spread of germs and to minimize the infection associated with health service. However in my research, it had been seen that has been become true the hand hygiene applied of hospital worker's every time but they do not know the correct time required for hand washing, to evaluate the information has been seen can not complete answers to the questions asked. Young, women and health staff have been working as a nurse had taken form the majority of study participants. Including doctors and nurses questionoaire was filled out two groups. Socio-demographic characteristics of doctor's and nurses's, information situations about hand hygiene and approaches to dealing with hand washing take part in this questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to 159 doctors and 218 nurses at the total who work in Düzce University hospital, but 120 person have been filled up the questionnaire, the results were evaluated using SPSS software and chi-square.
