The relationship between the perceptions of presenteeism, organizational ostracism and productivity of Duzce University administrative staff

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between presenteeism, organizational exclusion and productivity perceptions of the administrative staff working at universities. The study population of the research consisted of 736 administrative staff working at Düzce University in the 2020-2021 academic year. The data were collected online and the data of 317 administrative personnel were included in the scope of the research. Scanning model was used in the research. Personal information form, "Efficiency Scale for Employees" developed by the researcher, "Organizational Exclusion Scale" developed by Abaslı (2018) and "Presenteeism Scale" developed by Şanlımeşhur (2018) were used in data collection in order to determine the demographic characteristics of the administrative staff. In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, Man Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman Rho correlation analysis were used. According to the research findings, administrative personnel; It was concluded that they partially experienced presenteeism, did not experience organizational exclusion, and often found themselves productive. When the research findings are examined, the presenteeism perceptions of the administrative personnel participating in the study are "I agree" in the sub-dimensions of commitment, intrinsic motivation, focus on work and responsibility; "I partially agree" in emotional impact dimension and overall scale; "I do not agree" in the sub-dimensions of low productivity and negative external factors; the isolating sub-dimension of the organizational exclusion scale and "strongly disagree" across the scale, "disagree" in the nihilation sub-dimension; It has been found that the productivity scale of employees is "often" in the sub-dimension of those that affect productivity positively and in general, and "rarely" in the sub-dimension of those that affect productivity negatively. In addition, it was found that the perceptions of administrative personnel differed statistically significantly according to some demographic characteristics. In addition, it was observed that there were moderate and low-level positive and negative significant relationships between the variables in the study.
