The effects of leaf fertilizer applications to the Gemlik olive variety with and without irrigation in Düziçi (Osmaniye) on fruit yield quality and olive oil content

This study aimed to determine the yield per tree and the foliar application of different mineral (KNO3+H3BO3+ZnSO4 and Urea+MgSO4) and organomineral fertilizers (Raykat Growth, Raykat Start and Phytomare) in the pre- and post-blooming periods of Gemlik olive cultivar, on trees with and without irrigation. This study was carried out to determine the effects of fruit quality criteria on olive oil content. In the study, it was determined that fertilization and irrigation applications were effective in yield and 100 grain weight per tree; It was determined that only irrigation was effective in fruit flesh weight and fruit flesh/seed ratio. In general, it was determined that different application periods did not have an effect on some parameters. The highest yield per tree (49.7 kg/tree) was obtained from the irrigated Raykat Growth organomineral fertilizer application, and the highest 100 grain weight was obtained from the irrigated (402.7g/fruit) Urea+MgSO4 fertilizer application. It was observed that irrigation and fertilization were effective in the total oil analysis, and the oil rate was higher in the trees that were not irrigated. However, since the yield value per tree increases under irrigated conditions, the oil content is higher in total under irrigated conditions with increasing yield value. Total oil yield varied between 7.29-24.8% and the highest value (24.8%) was obtained from Raykat Growth organomineral fertilizer. 11 different fatty acids (myristic, palmitic, palmitoleic, heptadeconaic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic, Cis-8.11.14-Eicosatrien, trichonic and lignoceric acids) were determined in the oil samples taken from olives.
