Abstract (EN)

This work; It was made to create clothing (GDG) designs that support the cognitive, language, psychomotor and social-emotional development of babies aged 18-24 months and to determine the purchase/preference status of parents regarding the new market potential of such clothes. It has been observed that there are limited number of clothing studies supporting development in the literature, and no research has been found to measure parental preferences and market potential. The research is important because it is an example of industry practices in new product design and measurement of product purchasing potential. The research consists of an Expert Group and a Working Group. A total of 11 experts from three different fields, selected by criterion sampling, are included in the Expert Group. The Working Group consists of 150 parents with babies aged between 18-24 months, who participated voluntarily through the Web-based survey application within a certain period of time using the snowball sampling method. In the study, which includes the mixed research method, the GDG design process consists of qualitative, quasi-experimental/practical research, parental views, quantitative, survey model research. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect expert data, and a structured questionnaire was used to collect parent opinions. Expert interview forms were analyzed by qualitative analysis and parental views were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis technique. As a result of the research, in the garment design process that supports development; Concepts such as safety/health, comfort (use, movement, thermal heat), fabric structure, easy cleaning, aesthetics (form, color, etc.), economy/accessibility, information for use, originality in design and developmental suitability have been determined as the features to be considered. It was found out that 52% of the parents knew about GDG, 58.7% had never seen GDG, and 78.7% had never used such clothes. When the parents' GDG preferences are examined; It has been determined that they prefer functionality rather than the concept of aesthetics, and also see them as a determining feature in purchasing/liking clothes containing visual, auditory, and tactile stimuli.
