Abu Davud at-Tayâlisi And His Musnad

In this study, Abu Davud at-Tayâlisi and his work entitled al-Musnad are examined. It consists of three chapters.In the first chapter, the term which Tayalisi lived in is examined as the Science of Hadith up to Tayalisi and the Science of Hadith during the term of Tayalisi.In the second chapter, the life and the scientific personality of Tayalisi, his teachers, his students, his work, the journeys which he organized to learn Hadith and the criticisms which the scholars set forth about Tayalisi are researched.In the third chapter, Musnads in the Literature of Hadith and Musnad of Abu Davud at-Tayalisi are researched in assorted respects. The data about the copies of Musnad, its existing printings, studies on Musnad and their scientific value are informed; the kinds of hadith which are in Musnad, the narrations which belong to at-Tayalisi in the subsequent Hadith sources, chiefly in The Kutub-u Sitta are stated.Key Words: al-Tayalisi, al-musnad, classification, The Prophet, sahih
