Statement (al-Bayan) according to Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi and al-Zamakhshari: The case of surah al-Baqarah

Statement (al-Bayân) according to Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi and al-Zamakhshari, "The Case of Surah al-Baqarah" This study aims to discuss the rhetorical aspects found in the works of Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi and al-Zamakhshari in their interpretations of the Quran, in their books "el-Bahru'l-Muhit" and "el-Keşşâf," with the purpose of reaching the fundamental principles they both adhered to in their exegesis of the Holy Quran. Following this, it involves a research work that involves describing, analyzing, drawing conclusions, and then reporting the results of this study. The study consists of an introduction, a preface, and three main sections, followed by a conclusion and an index. The first section includes the biographies, scholarly careers, most important books, mentors, students, and writings of Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi and al-Zamakhshari. While discussing their connection to language, its branches, origins, and other sciences, their relation to the Arabic language and the sciences of the Quran is also explored. The second section covers "The Science of Quranic Exegesis" and "The Science of Rhetoric." In this section, the origins of the Quran and its sciences are discussed within the framework of the science of exegesis. Rhetoric and eloquence sciences are defined and explained linguistically and conceptually. The third section, is titled "Rhetorical Analysis of Surah Al-Baqara in el-Bahru'l-Muhit and el-Keşşâf," and it is divided into sub-sections. In this part, the books el-Bahru'l-Muhit and el-Keşşâf are introduced, and the rhetorical approaches of Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi and Zamakhshari in their interpretations are discussed. In the second main heading, Surah Al-Baqara is introduced, providing information about its occasion of revelation, place, arrangement, and the number of verses. It also includes an analytical and rhetorical examination of the verses of Surah Al-Baqara as presented in the books el-Bahru'l-Muhit and el-Keşşâf.
