Abū Isḥāḳ Al-Thaʿlabi's approach to Qur'anic Sciencesin his Commentary "Al-Kashf wa'l-Bayan"

Efforts to understand the Qur'an correctly have led to the emergence of Qur'anic sciences that have made a significant contribution to commentary activities. Many commentaries have been written using these sciences. In his work Al-Kashf wa'l-Bayan, Al-Thaʿlabi thoroughly commented on the whole Qur'an and included Qur'anic sciences in his work. In this study, we investigated and analyzed how he handled Qur'anic sciences in his commentary. We tried to determine the extent to which the Commentator included the subject and revealed his thoughts on the subject. This thesis consists of an introduction and two main sections. In the introduction part, the subject, aim, and method of the research were discussed. The commentary's preface was reviewed. In the first chapter, Qur'anic sciences based on riwaya are examined under five sections. In the second part, the Quranic sciences based on diraya were discussed under the subsections of language, meaning, and style and presented in twelve subsections. All of these headings are explained with the obtained data and relevant examples. Our study concludes with a conclusion section and references.
