Ebü'l-Leys Semerkandî (d. 373/983) is a scholar who lived in the 4th century of the Hegira and found fame with the nickname "İmâmü'l-Hüda". This person, who is accepted as an authority in the Hanafi sect, is also known as a faqih, mufassir, muhaddis, ascetic and sufi. When the works of the author are examined, it is seen that he wrote works not only in a certain field, but also in the subjects of fiqh, tafsir, creed, hadith, mysticism and morality. Ebü'l-Leys Samarkandî is a scholar who became famous in the Islamic world, especially with his sermons and advice. In this study, based on the works of "Tenbîhü'l-gâfilîn" and "Bustanü'l-ârifîn", which are the books of sermons, advice and ethics, and his work called "Tefsîru'l Kur'an", which is one of the first of the ishari tafsir examples, and other moral works, Samarkandi's understanding of Sufism has been determined.
