Abstract (EN)
Cattle fattening is one of the important areas of activity in Suluova a town of Amasya province. In this study, a functional analysis of the factors affeecting the economic importance and production of relevant activity is made. The date of 117 belonging to the production period 2016-2017 were utilized. The operations arestudied by dividing three groups according to the number of animals. The cost of production and increase of live weight have been calculated in term of race, and the factors affecting the increase of live weight have been tried to be studied. Production costs and live weight gains were calculated for breeders of the examined establishments and factors affecting live weight gain in the establishments were tried to be estimated by functional analysis. As a result of the evaluation, it was determined that the surveyed establishments had 5.83 domestic, 2.44 crossbreed and 27.95 culture breed. Daily live weight gains were calculated as 691.23 g/animal for domestic breed, 824.82 g/animal for crossbreed and 1 108.35 g/animal for culture breed animals according to the average of the farms. Production costs for cattle fattening were calculated as 6 898.25 TL for domestic breed, 6 957.71 TL for crossbreed and 8 118.92 TL for culture breed animals in the average of the establishments. When the production costs are examined, it is determined that the animal material constitutes the highest expense item in all groups. As a result of these calculations, it was determined that 9.56 kg was consumed in domestic breed animals, 5.40 kg in crossbreed animals and 5.82 kg in culture breed animals in order to achieve 1 kg live weight increase in the examined establishments. It has been determined that, from 1 kg food, the crossbreed weight of the animals in the studied establishments is higher compared that of the other breeds. In addition, as a result of functional analysis; the most important factors affecting live weight gain; the number of animals fed and the per capita live weight were determined.
