Yara novel by Tatar writer Ayaz Gıylecev in the context of literature and cultural values

Ayaz Gıylecev (1928-2002) is one of the leading writers of Contemporary Kazan Tatar literature who experienced various social and political events in the 20th century Turkish World. The artist who grew up in the countryside and carries the air and water of the Tatar village with all his being; In most of his works, he wrote about the past and present of the village, the philosophy of life, trouble and joy of ordinary people. The artist, who wrote down the events taken from the life from his first works, knew how to draw the characters of the people, who embody the characteristics of the people, with a unique/different description method and skillfully benefited from the rich vocabulary of the Tatar nation. Although the plot of the subjects is sometimes perceived as far from reality, the interpretations and discoveries of the pencil master and the ideas he tried to convey through events are surprising and thought-provoking. Ayaz Gıylecev, who first gained fame as a story and povest' (long story or short story) master in Tatar literature, also skillfully benefited from cultural elements; he handled them in a meaningful style in the light of the important issues of his time. It is seen that the author conveys his thoughts on the meaning of life, his love for his homeland and soil, in an original way by kneading the spiritual values of the Tatar people. He is an important name who has adopted the principle of keeping Tatar culture alive without surrendering to any pressure. This feature is Öç Arşın Cir, Comga Kön Kic Bêlen, Yazgı Kervannar, Yara etc. that fell from his pen in his prose works, the Tatar village in the war and post-war years, the lifestyle of hardworking and self-sacrificing people who overcome various difficulties of life, eternal values such as morality and love, honor and conscience, are depicted on the axis of contradictory dramatic events. In the author's novel, Yara, the events of a young boy who went to World War II and could not be heard from for a long time, and the feelings of his family and lover, who patiently awaited his return, are skillfully described by blending them with psychological depth and various elements of Tatar culture. In the study, Ayaz Gıylecev's mastery of description and the author's perspective on the world through the cultural elements in the work will be examined based on the work of Yara.
