Abstract (EN)

Literature is in relationship with society with all its phenomena. The social aspect of literature also ensures that it is in relationship with the discipline of sociology. While sociology deals with society through concrete realities and places it on a scientific basis, literature constructs and reflects society with its aesthetic aspect. Thus, a separate field of study called "Sociology of Literature" emerges between these two disciplines. It is known that the field of study, whose existence corresponds to the 20th century in our country, is handled in a vicious circle through literary works. However, the sociology of literature is a field that encompasses all writer, reader, work and publishing activities. In this field, the reader plays an active role in the realization and continuity of the work. In this context, there are different elements that change and transform diversified reader profiles. In the current cycle, libraries are the ultimate destination of the reader and literary works. In our thesis, it was investigated that university students, where we can closely observe the preferences of the society and new fashion trends, and in this context, libraries can contribute to the sociology of literature in the circulation of literary works. In addition, a new approach is made to the spatial field of existence of literary sociology and to give a different perspective to the studies carried out through the contents of the works. It is seen that there are many different factors such as popular culture, publication policies, the section read, and directions through the preferences of the students and the factors affecting the meeting of literary works with the reader. Seeing the reflection of literary works in libraries will guide both library services and the profile of the region and student readership. Within the framework of the research subject we have discussed, it is aimed to approach the sociology of literature through libraries known as memory spaces by eliminating the deficiency in the field. In this context, the data obtained by evaluating the 10-year literary works data of Marmara University libraries were tried to be interpreted and thus the reader map of Marmara University Library was drawn.
