Abstract (EN)

Philosophical counselling constitutes a distinctive form of intervention aimed at supporting individuals' meaning-making processes by addressing issues encountered at mental, intellectual, and belief-related levels through a philosophical lens. Since its emergence in the 1980s, this discipline has developed into a systematic field of practice, employing philosophical conceptual tools and the intellectual heritage of diverse philosophers to facilitate inner transformation. Although phenomenology offers a rigorous methodological approach to uncovering the structures of subjective experience, its ontological and epistemological premises present challenges for direct application within practical counselling contexts. Against this backdrop, the present study's original contribution lies in elucidating how phenomenology, primarily a theoretical method, can be effectively adapted to the practice-oriented field of philosophical counselling by proposing a methodological framework to support this transition. The study introduces a novel method termed 'Intermissio,' designed to operate at both theoretical and practical levels, thereby rendering the phenomenological approach functional within philosophical counselling. Central to the Intermissio method is the deployment of epoché during the counselling process, facilitating clients' re-interpretation of their experiences with heightened awareness and suspension of judgment. This method cultivates critical awareness of entrenched prejudices, assumptions, and misinterpretations, aiming not only to foster cognitive insight but also to effect transformative shifts in ethical orientation and existential positioning. Intermissio thereby functions as a therapeutic consciousness practice that transcends intellectual clarification, enabling individuals to critically interrogate and reconstruct their experiential frameworks. The study contributes conceptually to the theory of philosophical counselling and seeks to advance the institutionalisation of the field by proposing a systematic, practice-oriented method. Accordingly, the Intermissio approach is posited as a foundational model to guide the further development of theoretical and applied practices within philosophical counselling, warranting more comprehensive exploration in future research. Key Words: Philosophical Counselling, Phenomenology, Epoché, Intermissio, Husserl.
