Özet (EN)

Earthquake disasters have caused great damage to buildings and people. In this context, the structures should be modeled, designed and built in the most reliable way so that it does not adversely affect the lives of people directly or indirectly during and after the earthquake. As it is known, the accumulation of energy in tectonic plates causes earthquakes. The release of energy occurs through seismic waves. These seismic waves are recorded by seismometers. The recorded seismic data are used in the nonlinear time history analysis of structures in civil engineering. These recorded data are used as they are downloaded. Sometimes the earthquake data are recorded in east-west and north-south directions, sometimes they may be recorded at specific angles according to the position of the seismometer. In fact, the direction of the earthquake affecting a structure is unknown. This study aims to find the largest peak ground acceleration by changing the direction of the seismic data with certain angles. It is aimed to perform dynamic analysis with both the records recorded already and with the oriented records giving the largest seismic data. The near-fault and far fault effects are considered. The classification is performed according to soil types (soft, stiff, and hard soil) and fault mechanisms (strike-slip, normal, reverse fault). Moreover, Arias intensity is used in the classification. The results of dynamic analysis for recorded and oriented data are compared in terms of roof displacement; base shear; acceleration and displacement time history; acceleration and displacement spectra.
