Özet (EN)

Present seismicity and seismotectonics of the Aegean Region has been investigated in this thesis study. For this purpose, earthquake data which is obtained from the 29 micro-seismologic stations installed starting from the year of 2007 in the frame of TURDEP (Earthquake of Turkey) Project (Project No: 105G019), was used.Focal mechanisms have been investigated to reveal kinematic relationships between obtained earthquake activity and fault structures, and to better understand the tectonics of the region. Fault plane solutions were mapped and precise events which were provided certain criterias, have been chosen in this manner. Magnitude intervals of the selected earthquakes have been observed between 2.9 and 4.2, and depth of the events are concentrated within the upper earth crust (h<20).It is understood that obtained focal mechanism are comparable with the active tectonics of the region. As majority, normal and strike-slip faulting mechanisms are obtained. This result are shown that earthquakes in the Aegean Region have been occurred in the control of normal and reverse fault systems.
