Abstract (EN)
In this study it is aimed to present to what extend and how secondary school students' use of EBA in English education affects their behavioral, cognitive, emotional, social engagement and self-regulated learning skills. In the study, mixed research method which includes the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods was used together to answer the questions. Sixty students who participated in an application made on the EBA platform with convenience sampling method were included to the study. Data was collected by using the MOOC engagement scale, self-regulated perception scale, and the interview form. The quantitative data was analyzed with descriptive and predictive statistical techniques. Qualitative data was subjected to content analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that the effect of the EBA platform on the behavioral, cognitive, emotional, social engagement and self-regulated learning skills of secondary school students was high and positive. It has been seen that the content such as videos, tests, exercises, activities, and discussion forms in EBA positively supports the commitment and self-regulated learning skills of secondary school students. To increase the effect of EBA on secondary school students' engagement and self-regulated learning skills it is useful to make arrangements such as increasing detailed and attention-grabbing lecture videos, creating games for memorizing words and grammar and adding activities such as exercises and tests that are structured from easy to difficult.
