State of diaphragmatic breathing using of clarinet students of music education departments of education faculties

This research's purpose is to indicate the significance of the usage of diaphragm in clarinet education and also identfy the usage of diaphragam level of the clarinet students who are in department of the music teacher in Turkey. This is a descriptive research that indicate the importance of the usage of diaphragm in clarinet education as well as measure usage of the diaphragm level of students.The data which is about the significance of diaphregm breathing in this research are achieved with the help of the literature review. Moreover, the surveys which have been applied to students has been descriptive for evaluating the knowledge of diaphragm breathing. Results; which has gathered by surveys stated by fundemental statistical methods. Furthermore camera records have been made in order to measure the usage of diaphragm breathing level of the students and these camera records have also been evaluated by two expert clarinet musicians who are clarinet educators as well. Finally these evaluations are specified under the titles.By the results of applied survey; the students denoted that they have knowledge of diaphragm breathing and they make studies with their teachers about this issue. Yet, as these records were evaluated, it had been realized that majority of the students can not use diaphragm breathing effective enough.
