The relationship between the need for innovation and the level of being a learning organization

This research aims two things: The first one is the determination of the need for innovation at educational institutions and the other one is the revealing of the relationship beetween the need for innovation at educational institutions and the degree of how much these institutions can become a learning institution. The research is important in terms of both revealing the degree of how much the institutions which need innovation can become a learning institution and presenting the degree of how much the institutions can become a learning institution in addition to the results of the study by (Beycioğlu, 2004; İnandı, 1999; Sayıner, 1997). As a means of collecting data in the study, "Being a Learning Organization (BLO) Scale" was used. This scale was developed by Subaş (2010). The scale of 53 questions developed by İnandı (1999) was re-evaluated by Beycioğlu (2004) to determine the needs for innovation in the research and the final scale was used after having being was reduced to 40 items from 53 items by taking expert opinions.The data was analyzed by using SPSS 23.0.The research is a quantitative study that is appropriate to the relational survey model among the survey models. In this research, total of 527 scales were taken from the primary and middle school teachers in Kahramanmaras province and the districts of Elbistan, Nurhak, Turkoglu, Afşin and Ekinözü in the 2014-2015 education year. According to the results of the research, the need for innovations has been "quite" high in all sub-dimensions.The relationship between the need to be a learning institution and the need for innovation was found to be negatively correlated and insignificant in the sub-dimensions.
