Abstract (EN)
The general aim of this study is to find out opinions of the elementary school administrators about computer supported education. In the study, It?s aimed to determine the expectations of elementary school administrators about the things that must to be done for computer supported education and the expectations about the functions of computer supported education related to the future. For this purpose, opinions of elementary school administrators have been applied. The research was carried out according to general scanning model. The population of the study consists of principals, head principal assistants, assistants who work in 49 public elementary schools in Fatih district in Istanbul. In the study, as the whole population was reached completely, a sample group wasn?t selected. Data for the study was collected with the help of the questionnaire prepared by Gürol (1990). But, the questionnaire was changed by the researcher then was tested for reliability. The first part of the questionnaire asks for personal information of the administrators. In the second part of the questionnaire there are items about the expectations of elementary school administrators about the things that must to be done about computer supported education In the third part of the questionnaire there are items about the functions of computer supported education related to the future. To analyze data, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS,11.5) was used. Standard deviation, frequency, percentage and mean scores were calculated to analyze the data. To determine the differences according to gender, seniority and duty variables, t-test, one-way-ANOVA and post Hoc Tukey tests were used. According to results of the study, administrators expressed that they agree with the expectations about the things that must to be done for computer supported education and the expectations about the functions of computer supported education related to future. In terms of gender, seniority and duty, a significant difference wasn?t found between the Administrator?s expectations about the things that must to be done for computer supported education. Male administrators agreed with the expectations about the functions of computer supported education related to future more than female administrators. However, a significant difference wasn?t found according to seniority and duty.
