Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to research school directors? (and deputy directors?) opinions and satisfaction about the usability of the `E-Okul? Management Information System which was initiated in the 2007-2008 academic year by the Ministry of National Education. 130 participants of the study had been chosen randomly from state schools that located in Esenyurt and Beylikdüzü, Istanbul.A three part questionnaire was used to investigate the study subject. In the first part of the questionnaire directors? demographic were investigated. In the second part, directors? opinions about the functioning of the e-school system were (`E-Okul?) asked. And in the last part of the questionnaire, their satisfaction level of the e-school system was investigated. As the result of the study, it was found out that school directors still have some doubts about the reliability of the e-school system and they think that the teachers are not using the system adequately and efficiently. They are reluctant to encourage parents to use the system and they do not believe that the system solved the problem of student absences. Directors? perception of the functionality of the e-school system was found to be significant according to their demographic characteristics. Female, young, highly educated, being in deputy director position, low seniority and management experience, having fewer teachers/students in his/her school and have had e-school related in-service education or seminars are more satisfied than the other school directors about the e-school system.
