Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the contribution of English language skills of education administrators to their management careers. The research was carried out as a correlational research within the scope of the survey model. The universe of the research consists of principals and assistant principals who continue to work as secondary school administrators in Rize province and its districts in the 2022-2023 academic year. It has been determined that there are 42 principals and 68 assistant principals working at the secondary school level in Rize province and its districts. The convenient sampling method, one of the non-random sampling methods, was used in this study. Participation in the research was based on voluntariness. A sample consisting of "81" education administrators was obtained with the participants excluded due to missing data. A questionnaire form developed by the researcher was used as a data collection tool in the research. The data of the research was provided by percentage, frequency tables, examination of participant opinions and SPSS. As a result of the research, it was seen that the English language proficiency of the education administrators was not at a good level and they could not express themselves orally or in a written way in an institutional setting on a subject related to education. It has been determined that English contributes to administrators in subjects such as writing and conducting projects, personal development, communicating with foreigners, conducting research and providing academic development. A correlation was found between communicating in English and writing an English text grammatically, correcting mistakes made while writing an English text, and presenting oneself orally in English. A correlation was found between communicating in English on a subject related to education and writing a grammatical English text, correcting mistakes made while writing an English text, and presenting oneself orally in English.
