The views of educational administrators on cultural and art activities conducted in schools
Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the views of educational administrators regarding cultural and artistic activities carried out in schools. Cultural and artistic activities are among the important elements that enrich the learning environment of schools, in addition to contributing to students’ cognitive, affective, and social development. Educational administrators play a critical role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of these activities. In this study, the thoughts and experiences of educational administrators were examined in depth through a semi-structured interview form using a qualitative research method. The findings revealed that the majority of educational administrators consider cultural and artistic activities as a complementary part of educational processes in schools. Participants emphasized that these activities contribute to the development of students’ self-confidence, creativity, empathy, and communication skills. However, it was also determined that various challenges—such as insufficient budget, limitations in physical facilities, and lack of cooperation among teachers and parents—constitute obstacles to the effective implementation of these activities. As a result of the study, it was concluded that in order to carry out cultural and artistic activities more effectively, educational administrators should be supported, school-parent-community collaboration should be strengthened, and necessary financial resources should be provided. This study highlights the importance of cultural and artistic activities within the education system by presenting the perspectives of educational administrators.
