Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the ideas about work motivations of teachers and administrators who attended courses of total quality management in education (TQME) and in-service training (1ST). To fulfill this purpose how and what level the curriculum of education of quality (CEQ) affected the work motivations of the teachers and administrators were investigated. The study includes 288 teachers and 32 administrators; 234 of them are working at curriculum laboratory elementary schools (CLES) and 89 of them are working at other non-CLES. The data were collected by using questionnaire form and semiconstructed interview form, which were prepared by the researcher. Percentages and frequencies of data were determined and chi-square test was used to analyze data. Following conclusions were drawn from the findings of the research: 1. The total quality management education (TQM) was mostly carried on by the city formators. According to the ideas of teachers and administrators, the subjects of TQM were partly taught. 2. The expectations of the teachers and administrators were high before the educatioa There wasn't any meaningful difference except for some items between the ideas of them and the activities that were decided to be held before the educatioaIV 3. The curriculum of total quality management in education partly affected the level of the work motivations of the teachers and administrators. But, the levels of voluntary and active participations to the TQM of them were low. 4. The problems of the teachers and administrators, which were faced during the application of TQM reduced the level of their work motivations and negatively affected the voluntary and active participations of them. 5. During the application of TQM, the activities providing the continuity of work motivations of the teachers and administrators were carried on partly or not. 6. During the application of TQM, the expectations of the teachers and administrators towards the both material and non-material rewards were high. There wasn't any meaningful difference except for some items between the ideas of teachers and administrators about the effect of material and non-material rewars on work motivation.
