Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to design, manufacture a joint wear simulator to examine the wear behavior of hip, knee and spine joints and their implants. In addition, cattle joint cartilage samples and lamb knee joint and wear tests were performed to test the manufactured joint wear simulator. Firstly, the design parameters of the joint simulator are determined by examining the anatomical and biomechanical properties of the hip, knee and backbone joints. For this purpose, the simulators of the companies that produce joint simulators were examined and the idea of design was formed. Then computer-aided simulation design was made. The design of the completed simulation machine was completed. Three different wear tests were carried out to test the simulator. First, the wear of the joint cartilage was evaluated by sliding and rotation friction. In the second abrasion experiment, the effect of lubricant on friction and wear on Lamb hip joint was also investigated. The effect of this solution on cartilage wear was investigated using bovine serum. In the third Test, wear tests were carried out by connecting meniscus and meniscus and meniscus and meniscus and meniscus and lamb knee joints to the joint simulator in order to examine the effect of meniscus on erosion in Lamb knee joints.
