Ecological sustainability awareness research

After the second part of the twentieth century, it was discovered that the impacts of environmental concerns on the ecosystem were progressively increasing. Sustainable development has become more significant in the context of environmental issues. Studies on sustainable development continue to grow. In particular, there is a need to improve understanding of economic, social, and environmental sustainability, which are sub-dimensions of sustainable development, as well as to expand on current research. The aim of this research is to identify the characteristics that influence ecological sustainability consciousness, which frequently appears in the literature. In the study, an online survey was sent to 620 persons aged 18 and above using the researcher's social media accounts. The research employed scales that have been evaluated for validity and reliability. The survey questions were approved by the ethics committee of Çankırı Karatekin University, and preliminary testing were carried out to ensure their validity. The research data was analysed using the SPSS-25 software. The t-Test and Anova statistical tests, on the other hand, were done after evaluating whether or not the data were normally distributed and satisfying the required parameters. The survey revealed that the participants were well-versed in the concepts of sustainable development and ecological sustainability in general. Furthermore, it was discovered that there was a considerable variation in whether or not they had heard of the notion of ecological sustainable development depending on their educational degree.
