Abstract (EN)
Spray forming (SF) is one of the powder metallurgy techniques by which thematerials having high strength, less porosity and fine grains are produced. Onthe other hand extrusion is one of the best techniques of closing pores of metalparts. In this study spray formed ingot aluminium parts were extruded andreached full density. SF experiments were performed at distances between 90-140 mm and atomisation pressure between 5-10 bars. After machining of sprayformed preforms to cylindrical parts having 20 mm in diameter, they wereextruded to rods 6 mm in diameter. Tensile tests were applied to specimensproduced by extrusion. According to results of the tensile tests, nearly 10%improvement was observed on strength of the extruded spray formed parts incomparison to extruded as-cast parts. Furthermore, effects of the gasatomisation parameter and SF variables and the extrusion to microstructureand fracture surfaces were investigated by optical and electron microscopestudies.Science Code : 914.1.092Key Words : Spray forming, Extrusion, Mechanical propertiesPage Number : 56Adviser : Assist.
