El-Bâbûsü'l-Vasît Fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-Muhît (11/a-15/b, 53/a-72/b, 150/a-152/b, 215/a-246/a)

This work that I did my master's degree study on is an Arabic - Turkish dictionary named el-Bâbûsü'l-Vasît Fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-Muhît which was created by Merkezzȃde Ahmed Efendi on the basis of el-Kâmûsü'l Muhît. The dictionary is completed in 950/1543, it was presented to Suleiman the Magnificent. The dictionary is 312 leaf. el- Bȃbûs, consists of two parts, "Fi'l-Müfredȃt" and "Fi'l-Murekkebȃt". There are 11 copies of the work. The work is important in terms of showing the language features of the Old Anatolian Turkish and the dictionary understanding of the period in which it was written. Our study consists of in the library Atıf Efendi, at section Atıf Efendi, section 2692 of the copy of the author in which part of 11a-15b, 53a-72b, 150a-152b, 215a-246a. We have three mean part in our study. In the first chapter, general information about the study, historical periods from Old Turkish to Old Anatolian Turkish, types of dictionary and dictionary, history of Turkish lexicography and abstract of literature are given. In the second part, life of Merkezzâde Ahmed Efendi, works and properties of el-Bâbûsü'l-Vasît Fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-Muhît are introduced. In the third chapter, transcripted of el-Bâbûsü'l-Vasît Fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-Muhît into Latin letters is done. At the end of our study, the facsimile of el-Bâbûsü'l-Vasît Fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-Muhît was added.
