The li̇fe, works, and hi̇stography of al-athir one of the Islamic scholars from Al-Kazeera regi̇on

History is various narratives about the past. The historian, the narrator, is also important for the historial knowledge and the truth of the subject. In this study, which we have done with the life, works and historiography of Ibn al-Athir, one of the scholars born in Cizre district of Şırnak province, it is aimed to introduce an important personality of history. According to this, we wanted to display İbn al-Athir, who is only one of the excellent personalities who were added to our cuture with the Islamization of this town by al-Jazeera, and his efforts to shed light on the history of his works, and to transfer his knowledge to later generations. This, his position in Turkish and Islamic history and his innovations in the field of the history will be understood. In this study, following the survey of the region where Ibn al-Athir, also known as Cezeri, was born and where Cizre was a rich science-culture center at that time, the services of this region immediately after the conquest of Muslims and the importance of the region were motioned. Thus, a connection will be established between Ibn al-Athir's birthplace, the environment he grew up and his scientific personality and the effect of the region on Ibn al-Athir and his works and historiography, his contribution to history has been determinend as well as how he has read the previous historical news and narrations and with his innovations and ideas that he has added to the history field. In this study, prepared by taking advantage of Ibn al-Athir's works and other history and the importance of his works are under stood.
