UAV control with hand gestures design and analysis

This study aims to wirelessly control a UAV with human hand gestures, unlike the remote control-controlled Quadcopter teleoperation method, which is frequently used today. This thesis covers a wide range of topics from Quadcopter system modeling to glove system design and programming. The system design was prepared in Matlab&Simulink environment and then the control design was prepared on simulink. Then, after verification of the control system, the control system is embedded in the electronic hardware. Arduino Uno was used as a microcontroller in this study. In the glove system, a new circuit has been designed and this circuit is controlled with the Atmega328P chip. The main motivation of the study is to prevent the components used in a UAV pilot from being artificial and dysfunctional to the user. For this reason, by offering a UAV pilot skill with the hand gestures people use in many different areas in daily life, the user gets better results and provides ease of use. The results show that a glove system designed for hand gestures is similar to the joystick system and can be used according to the applications. In addition, a single hand was chosen in the use of hand gestures. Thus, piloting training was provided for people who lost a limb.
